The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Diana Atwine, has today commissioned a newly refurbished maternity ward at Butenga HC IV in Bukomansimbi District. The ward was refurbished with support from the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH)

KOFIH also supported the construction and equipping of the Surgical Ward, OPD and Emergency Unit Block at the same health centre.

Digital X-rays, ambulance and emergency care equipment and supplies have been procured to support health service delivery at Bukomansimbi District, the ministry of health said in a statement.

Dr Ponsiano Mwebe, the In charge of the facility, revealed that there were initially eight beds and now 10 more have been added.
